Jill & Darren performed their first ever American Smooth (which was introduced into the competition in series three) to “Favourite Things”. Craig was absolutely exhausted watching them, saying they threw everything into that routine except the kitchen sink, it was completely frenetic, but he loved it. Arlene said it was stunningly danced, brilliantly staged by Darren and saying it was like tossing Brussels sprouts into boiling water and watching them whirl around. Len told us it jingled his bells, with Viennese Waltz, Quickstep and a bit of Samba, and although it was fast, it could have been easy to go wild, but they kept it all controlled. Finally, Bruno simply said welcome back Jill, a cracker of a performer, who doesn’t just dance but explodes on the dance floor.
